There are offensive Google text ads on your site

Although we like to believe that we maintain a certain level of control over our websites, we do however, have advertising not controlled by us on our websites.

If you see ads that you feel shouldn’t be on our websites because of inappropriate content or for some other reason, please email our webmaster with a brief description of the text within the ad and the URL mentioned inside it as well.  We will be more than happy to consider filtering the ad out.

Where is the Business Card Index located on your website?

The Business Card Index is a print feature that we place on our website for added value to our advertisers.  It is a duplicate of the print edition hosted online.   The Business Card Index is posted online Monthly in our Web Extras section located on the homepage of The Daily Star’s website.

To view the Business Card Index online, you will need to have an Adobe PDF reader.  Adobe PDF readers usually come standard with most PC’s.  If you need to download your free Adobe PDF reader, please visit the Websites category of this Help blog.

Another way to access Business Card Index on the website is by clicking on the ‘Business Card Index’ link at the bottom of our website under the site map.

Where are Legals Notices online?

Our legal notices do not go onto our websites.  There are a couple options to view legal notices.  The first option is to purchase the newspaper for today’s legal notices.  The second option is to view the legal notices in our library here at The Daily Star.  If you wish to view the legal notices in our library, please call 607-432-1000 and ask to speak to our librarian.  You may also email her at librarian@thedailystar.com.

Of course.  We have trained Advertising Representatives and Graphic Artists who are trained to help you with ad layout, copy, design and placement.  We can also help you find the right ads to  fit your budget.

Call 607-432-1000 and ask to speak to someone in advertising.  We have Advertising Representatives who will be happy to advise you concerning the design, placement, price and copy of your ad.

A meeting can also be arranged at your place or ours.

Can you help me find information from ads recently published in one of your papers?

Under most circumstances yes, we can help.  The key to helping you is the more information you have about the ad you are looking for, the better.   Ideally, if you had the publishing date and the name of advertiser, we will most likely find the ad you are looking for.

Print ads generally do not appear online.

You are also welcome to come to The Daily Star in person and look through our bound print editions or microfilm as well.
